Low Disc Space Error Due to Partitioned Hard Drive

My computer at work has alot of information on it.  I could save all of it to the server, and reformat, but I would like for that to be my last resort.  I have 3 partitions on my hard drive and would like to combine the three without losing any of my information, Is there a way to do that without formatting my hard drive completely?  I am running WIndows XP my partitions are as follows:  C: 400 MB; D: 8.78 GB; E: 9.94 GB.  Please tell me there is a way to combine atleast 2 of these without deleting the partition or formatting the hard drive, and how?

Any time you tinker with partitions, it is wise to back up all your important data first.

You will need to use a third party partitioning software to do what you want.

I am a tech at a shop and we do that for customers all the time and charge less than the cost of the software.  Unless you plan on messing with partitions often you might check around before buying the software.

Thanks for the information.  I am the IT manager here at the office where I work.  This is the only computer that has this problem, and I was thinking there is no way they are gonna let me buy the software to do that with.  Would you suggest that I just backup all of my information and format and recover the computer with no partitions?

"there is no way they are gonna let me buy the software to do that with. "

Then tell them it cannot be done. :smileywink:

You cannot work on computers with stone knives and bear skins!

Yes, you can reinstall the OS, deleting all partitions during setup, and then create a new C partition using the entire disk space.
