Thank you. I took your suggestion and the data on my Security Screen was restored. You folks on this forum are amazing....I spent so much time on 3 diff. chat sessions with McAfee and none of those techs made this suggestion to me. I am very grateful for your time. Next i will attempt to reinstall the McAfee privacy service!
The only way i could help with your problem is to offer sympathy for the lack of resolve you've had from the McAfee tech support. Their favorite solution to
everything is to uninstall and reinstall, and beyond that they seem pretty much stymied by any question we ask. Be patient. One of the wonderful regulars on this site will help you, as they have me-----more than once! I am too new and too technically ignorant to make any suggestions to you, but I have great faith in, and admiration for, the experienced Dell users who offer help here on the forum.
I have read your posting on McAfee services . I have a Dell and had the services installed when I bought it . I had the Firewall , Virus , Privacy service put on it . I had to renew my subscription about a week ago . I renewed it and now my Privacy service does not work . I have been on the McAfee site for tech and for the past week they have not resolved the issue . They had me uninstall and reinstall it and still does not work . My screen fades in and out and comes up saying some components are missing and it ran on a earlier version . What do you do ? Help !!

Try this, and see if it works:
Open Internet Explorer---Click tools--internet options--security (tab).
Click "default level" , then OK.

I only use the Mcaffee anti-virus. And run adaware, spybot, and spyware blaster, besides a firewall. (Sygate)
I bought Mcaffee (It came with my laptop, so I decided to buy a Mcaffee CD from Wal-Mart.
Then I found out afterwards that the free antivirus programs are just as good, or better.
I used AVG, then swiched to AVAST when AVG was changing versions, but they are both fine, now.
