McAfee VirusScan cannot be enabled. NotifyAlert.exe error message

Question

I have been using McAfee VirusScan, Privacy, and Firewall Plus for 3 years. Suddenly, at the same time I started getting 'NotifyAlert.exe' error messages at boot up, VirusScan also became disabled and cannot be enabled. At the same time I also started getting occasional 'rng.exe' application error messages and 'Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close' messages. McAfee Support had me uninstall all McAfee and SpySweeper files and said I should get support from Dell before reinstalling any of those files. Any ideas?

I've tried removing Dell Support, but I cannot. I get an 'Error 1722' message that says I should 'contact support personnel.' Should I attempt to remove all Dell programs including 'Dell Resource CD'? Dell Support says to check if MS.NET Framework is installed, and it is.

When I 'run' 'regedit' I find 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Dell\EUSW\ Support.exe' Can I safely delete that file and might it help me solve my problem?
