Media Center Receiver Service Error

Hi

I have just bought a dimension 5150 running on XP and tonight i have been getting the above message pop up at me.....thing is it doesnt close just keeps popping up the message every 30 seconds or so. The error report says........

Error signature

szAppName : ehrecvr.exe szAppVer:5.1.2715.2773

szModName : CinemasterAudi.DLL szModVer : 2.8.6.1418 offset : 0000c076

The error report includes information regarding the condition of Media Centre Receiver when the problem occurred, the operating system version and computer harware in use, and the Internet protocol (IP) address of your computer.

Can anyone translate that into plain english! I havent a clue whats happened, was running fine but now pops up messages every 15 secs if i close them.

Many thanks

hi there,
i spent all day trying to figure this problem out. It was definately due to downloading media player 11 beta.
I removed this and then checked again for any rollbacks that I could remove. So I went to control panel/add remove programs checked the update box at the top and looked under windows for a media player 10 rollback and removed it. I did not remove the rollback for the media centre.

and there it was all working correctly, but had to configure all the stations again.

hope it works for you

no matter, what have you downloaded just prior to it not working? delete them. have you made any updates, can you post a copy of the error message, or is the same as the one in the thread?

Bigmnya, what did the error message say, after you clicked on it? It should give you the files that are causing the problems.

Started by it self. I haven't installed anything.
Firstly sound was gone. After I rebooted computer the messages started poping up but sound works...

Do you mean this? or the actual .txt file?
