Memory Parity Error

Here's the short version.  A week ago, I had cable internet installed, bought new memory to go with it.  Computer ran fine for a couple of days.  Then got infected with a number of trojan viruses.  McAfee took care of that, or so I hope, and downloaded Ad-Aware to get rid of anything else.  The last 4/5 days, my computer has virtually stopped working.  This is the first day I have been able to even run my computer in normal mode v. safe mode.  This is also the first day I have been able to get on-line.  The parity error specifically says:  "Memory Parity Error on BUS Device 0080h...System Halted". Yeah, what?  Sometimes it halts right at start up and sometimes as soon as I click on anything.  Just prior to getting on-line a few moments ago, I had to shut down three times because of this parity error.  It seems that as of today, my computer is now hit or miss.  I managed to email Dell this morning, but still no response.  Anyone know anything about this.  I am in blue screen hell.

Run a 32 bit diagnostics on the memory

pop in the dell resource cd , reboot the comp , press F12 when you see the dell logo ,choose IDE CD ROM , choose boot from cd rom , choose 32 bit from the menu options, choose 32 bit again , choose express test. IF you get any errors apart from error reading optical drive call up dell tech support
