Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter

I've been trying to fix my laptop for quite some time. My cousin messed with it and now I don't know what is going on. She reset the laptop going back to the previous time where it was functioning correctly, but still the internet browser doesn't want to work. Every time I open any internet browser, the page stays blank and I get a pop up saying "Internet explorer has stopped working". and then "close program".

At first my adapter icon had the yellow triangle sign, when I researched about the miniport adapter, everyone suggested that I just disable it and the internet should work properly.

I did disable it, and the internet browser still does not work. It won't even let me type in a URL, it freezes up waiting for the pop up to come saying it stopped working, and to force me to close the program.

Help..

(It say's it is connected to the wifi. Every device in house has no problem except that one. I have great connection and full bars as it's still displayed, however internet does not work.)

youniquecosmeticss,

Try these tweaks....

Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your network adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

DO NOT UNCHECK THE BOX, ALLOW THE COMPUTER TO TURN OFF THIS DEVICE TO SAVE POWER FOR THE MICROSOFT VIRTUAL WIFI MINI-PORT ADAPTER OR IT GOES MISSING.

Go to the power options, and changed the Wireless Adapter Setting, from Maximum Power Setting to Maximum Performance.
