Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Icon
Whenever I log onto the Internet (currently have dial-up), I will have this Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library icon appear on my bottom toolbar every 3 minutes. It lights up orange, and will then display a box of whatever Internet page I am looking at until I right click on the icon and close it. Every time this runs, my Internet will freeze up and if I am trying to go to a different page or download something, it stops that motion. This issue has not always happened, but it appears to have only started about a month ago. No clue where I can go to stop it from coming up and freezing my computer. I have an XP OS and Office. Please advise. Thanks.

Have you checked your system for viruses and scanned and removed all spyware and other internet parasites?

You also might try uninstalling the Google toolbar, (assuming you have it) via Add/Remove Programs.
