One method that can be used to disable items from launching with Windows during startup is using MS's System Configuration Utility...
Launch by : Start -> Run -> msconfig -> Click on the Startup Tab
Browse through the list of items present, and remove the checkmark that appears under the undesired program. Then click OK and reboot. The changes made can be reversed by adding the checkmark back in should you find you need the program running.
