Microsoft Works Uninstall

Question

My father purchased a Dell 2400 and my nephew tried to do the fine-tuning of the set-up for him. Only problem was, when he went looking for the MS Works Suite that was supposed to be pre-installed, he couldn't find it. We figured someone messed up and didn't install it and that it was no big deal. He could just install mine and we would contact whom-ever to get the mix-up resolved. Well, as it turns out, my computer genius nephew had the resolution on the monitor set so low that all the programs didn't show up and low and behold, MS Works Suite IS there. My version is a 2002 version and dad's is 2004. Now, upon startup, dad gets the message that it cannot find 'activation.exe' which I tracked back to the MS Works Suite Version 2002. No big deal. Just uninstall the 2002 version and everything will be as it should be. Wrong. We can't uninstall the 2002 version. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

bus48, If Works 2002 was installed recently use System Restore to return to a date before the installation and there will be no trace of the program left.

Denny, I tried that. Even going back as far as last month. During the install process, I'm asked for the disk that has MS Works on it. So I put mine in. Maybe I should be putting his in, if he only had one.

Sorry. I meant during the UNINSTALL process.

Problem fixed. Did system restore back to date of purchase.
