milbucks,

Try using the Vista 64-bit drivers and install them in the compatibility mode.

Right click on the drivers file, left click properties, left click compatibility. Change the compatibility to Vista. Then right click on the drivers, left click run as administrator.

What system is this?

Its a Studio laptop 1536. I ran the Windows 7 compatibility wizard and made sure I could install 64 Bit and everything was ok. I see online that other people have had this problem and it was sometimes fixed by re-burning the .ISO file to a DVD at the slowest possible speed. I tried this and the same problem happens

I cant change the compatibility to Vista because I still am using Vista. I run into the driver problem when I'm trying to clean install Windows 7. I don't understand how it can be saying its missing a CD/DVD driver when it is installing off a disc in the CD/DVD drive.

I tried downloading those drivers and still no luck. however i was able to install windows 7 with no problems using a flash drive instead of a DVD. the problem had to be a bad burn either because of the cheap DVD's or the burning software. I used the same ISO file on my flash drive and it worked just fine. thanks for the help
