missing flash player

Question

I no longer have flash player on my PC. I can no longer view simple online cards sent to me. I downloaded the new flash player, I believe it is version 9 but it does not work. I have lost whatever I had before. When I open something it tells be to get flash player but will not download when I try.

Thanks Ron, I uninstalled flash as instructed but I still cannot install the new flash.

Are you logged in with an account that has Administrator privileges? Have you tried downloading the player by going directly to the Adobe download site here, rather than clicking on a link?

Is your browser or firewall security set too high and they're blocking ActiveX components? Are you closing the browser before installing the download?

Try downloading it to your desktop. Then reboot in Safe Mode (F8 before XP starts to load) and see if it will install from there. Then reboot normally.

That is where I have tried to download several times. This time I was able to download and it works. I didn't even have to go into safe mode or anything. Not sure what happened. I didn't even realize it was installing, but as long as it works I'm happy. Thanks again.
