Missing mscoree.dll file

Question

Norton System Doctor reports that DotNetInstaller.exe can't access 'a necessary file, 'mscoree.dll''. A search of My Computer can't find the file.   The computer runs Windows 2000 Professional 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4. It's a standalone computer, not part of a network. What makes it run DotNetInstaller.exe? Does it even need mscoree.dll? How do I get rid of this error message?

drwics, You will need to reinstall the .Net redistributable as per this Microsoft KB article. Respectfully,
