Missing s/w URL identifier

Question

I'm not sure if this is the correct message board, but here goes. Sometime ago (6-12 months?) I downloaded and installed a small s/w utility that identified which site a link actually took you to, as opposed to the one it claimed to be. This was very effective in preventing me from responding to phishing attacks, etc. It installed on the browser just beneath the URL window. Somehow it's disappeared. Anyone know the name, source, location, so I can reinstall it? Thanks for the help.

sounds like SPOOFSTICK:  http://www.spoofstick.com/   is that the one?

spoofstick has a firefox version, that's supposed to be compatable with version 1.5... but it doesn't indicate what will happen if you try to install this on 2.0 :   http://www.spoofstick.com/firefox.html

i just located this at the Mozilla/Firefox site:   https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2429/   I've never used it, so i can't say if it's any good... but the description follows what you're asking for.

Looks like you've nailed it. Thank you. However, and there always seems to be a however, it doesn't work with Firefox 2.0 which is what I'm currently using and that probably explains why it disappeared.

Do you know of anything else around that does the same thing?
