MS Outlook Express on Windows XP
I have a new Dell XPS computer with Windows XP Pro, MS Office Pro software, and Outlook Express 6.00. I have taken all of the Outlook Express e-mail messages/files (*.dbx) off the old Dell Dimension Windows95 computer according to Forum (Denny Denham) mail transfer tutorial suggestions and stored them temporarily on my new XPS computer (Transfer, rename, recognize, etc.), in a desktop file folder named 'old mail'. Now I want to import them or add them to my new XPS Computer Outlook Express mailbox (inbox). However, I cannot find where to put these *.dbx files on the new computer, so that I can upload them into my outlook Express and thereby keep all the old e-mails. The XPS does not seem to store *.dbx files for each Outlook Express subfolder, and doesn't seem to have a file for Applications per se. Do you have any suggestions on how to recapture these old e-mails and bring them into the Inbox subdirectory of the new computer? I would welcome your suggestions at
me98@yahoo.com Thanks for your help.

Open Outlook Express and go to File|Import|Messages|Microsoft Outlook Express 6. Select "Import mail from an OE store directory" and browse to your "old mail" folder. To see where OE is storing them on your XPS go to Tools|Options|Maintenance tab and click the "Store Folder" button. The location of the store folder will be shown in a Store Location window.

Denny, Thanks so much for your information and guidance. I was able to quickly import my e-mail information into the new computer. I appreciate it very much.
