My MS Photo Editor does not have a history; however it maintains a "list of files" as long as the editor is in use.
In order to remove the individual images, I need only to access the specific folder where they reside, and then to right click on the file, then to select delete. Once I have done this, the image is then set to my recycle bin where it remains until I empty my recycle bin.
In order to remove the list from Photo Editor, you need to edit the MRU registry, or see Dan Manley's link.

Perhaps the easiest way to clear (all) MRU lists is to download, install and run Spybot Search & Destroy with the tracking options enabled:

Spybot has an Advanced settings that deals with fancy procedures like the one that Dan Manley has suggested. It has been several months since I uninstalled Spybot so I can not explain what Dan has referenced. If he does not reply to this thread again, you might try either emailing him, or try using the Dell Talk Private Messages.
The list of files that MS Photo Editor maintains is so small that I generally do not bother with editing it. It is self-regulating. I do not recall ever seeing my list grow much larger than a total of 5. So I would say "just ignore it."
However you have asked how to edit it, and the procedure is done by editing your registry. Before you edit the registry, you should be cautioned to "backup your registry" because you can do irreparable harm to your computer. Read through this article. If you still feel that it is necessary to edit your MS Photo Editor, then the article should point you in the right direction.
The MRU list for the MS Photo Editor is located at:
When you get to this point, you will know what to do. If you do not, then leave everything alone.

Now, don't get too turned off. That MS KB article is important.
When you have finished reading through as much as you can, you will have gained a wonderful amount of important knowledge, a glimpse into the interior of your computer. This knowledge MUST be learned because of the spyware and malware that exists today. So take the time to read.
That Spybot program is excellent and you should take the time to understand everything that there is about Spybot's settings, especially how to deal with the regular necessary updates. These occur about monthly. I uninstalled Spybot only because Spybot was really unnecessary in my own computing. I use AdAware and seldom go surfing on the Internet to questionable websites. If I surfed in unfamiliar areas, I would reinstall Spybot immediately, though AdAware does a wonderful job. My only reason for not having both is because I want to keep my free space as large as possible without duplicating when it is not necessary.
Anyway, getting back to the editing.... After you have read through the MS KB article, do a little research of your own, at the Microsoft Support Knowledge Base search engine and look up How to edit the MRU file list for the Windows Media Player (this is not the title). The procedure is fairly straight-forward and easy, and you should be able to accomplish something like editing your WMP without a hitch. The primary thing to keep in mind is to always "backup your registry" before beginning. This is done easily. Feel free to send me a Dell Talk Private Message at any time and I will be glad to assist you in any steps that you do not understand.

Whenever I run across something that I do not know, I immediately try the Google search engine. This is what I found for BACKWEB LITE. Google saves you lots of time waiting.... The answer to your question is, definitely yes!
And PestPatrol is worth adding to your Favorites folder.
