MSN 9 dial-up, install now or wait a while ?

Just received my CD with the MSN 9 browser software in the mail, and before I install it I have a few question. Hope somebody can answer them.

  1. Can I keep Outlook Express, and will the spam filter work with it ?
  2. If I can not keep outlook express, does the new e-mail (hotmail) program that comes with MSN 9 permit me to have local mail folders, and are there any problems with the change-over from outlook express to the new mail system ?
  3. Does the virus protection that comes with MSN 9 replace the Mcaffee stand alone program I currently use, and, if yes, do I have to disable the Mcaffee program before installing MSN 9 ?
  4. Do I have to disable the XP firewall I currently use in order to use the firewall that comes with MSN 9 ?
  5. Do I have to disable the stand alone  popup stopper I currently use in order to use the popup stopper that comes with MSN 9 ?
  6. How does the new dial-up accelerator perform ?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Guenter

I was reluctant to Install MSN 9 after seeing some of these messages here, but glad I did...No cofilcts with anything on my machine including Norton AV & the page accelerator feature works well also.  I do not use Outlook Express & can't comment on that. However the Firewall & AV features are extra / optional items and not part of the basic installation of MSN 9. I'm running WIN ME with 128Mb of memory / Dimension 8100......Hope this helps/   BG
