Multiple Operating Systems

Hi,

I have just partitioned my newly purchased 120 GB using Partition Magic. My old 40 GB drive contains Windows XP Home as the OS. On my new 120 GB drive, the first 10 GB is allocated for OS; the OS here that I want is Windows XP Pro, which my school gave free to the students.

Apparently PowerQuest Boot Magic included with their Partition Magic only allows installing Windows XP on the first drive "to avoid complexities". Can I install XP Pro on the second drive? Would the installation be as simple as booting from the CD? Would the computer be confused at boot-up as to which OS I want to use? If someone would provide a step-by-step instructions, I would be most thankful.

Thank you

Just boot from XP CD start new Install by pressing "Enter" key & should later show a list of partitions on Drives.
Select partition of new HD.
It will auto add to  boot.ini file & show boot menu when you start with Auto time-out to new XP Pro install.

After Windows XP Desktop is loaded you can adjust the auto time-out of boot menu by pressing Windows+Break(Pause) keys together  , select "Advanced" tab , "Startup & Recovery" "Settings" button & select which OS system is to remain as Default boot menu  time-out Auto selection  &  time before Auto selection by setting the first "Time to display ....OS".

I have mine set to 2 sec which gives time to stop auto time-out by pressing Down Arrow key then press "Enter" key if you want to boot to the select OS.
Boot menu also gives option to press F8 for Advanced Menu , Auto time-out can be stopped as above then press F8.
Immediate selection of Highlighted OS can be made by just pressing "Enter".

See this link as a guide but select the partition of new HD.
