What tv tuner card? Explain how you are attaching the coax cable to the tv tuner card. Check Hardware Manager, Sound, Game and video to see what tv card you have.

first of all, i would like to thank you for helping me.

i went to device manager, and i got a list of things in the sound, video and game controllers area. i don't know which one is the tv card. so i'll list them here:

ATI Unified AVStream Drvier
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture devices
Media Control Device
SigmaTel High Definetion Audio CODEC
Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device
Video Codec

thanks again

I suspected that. Sounds like you do not have a tv tuner card. Check all your hardware in Device Mgr. to make sure. Unfortunately, you do not automatically get a tuner card when you order MCE with your Dell. It's an extra that you pay for and have to select when you configure your purchase. You'll need to buy a tv tuner card like Hauppauge PVR 150 for Media Edition or a similar card.

but when i customized my computer, i clicked on 'Single TV Tuner + Remote Control - watch and record TV on your PC' option. so shouldn't i have one?

thanks

Yes, you should. You can identify the card by the connections. You'll see a coax cable connection on the tuner card. Since this is new computer, use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page to contact Dell Support for help. You can also check your invoice online by putting in your service tag and selecting Original Configuration.

so you're saying that i have that 'tv card' but it's not installed on my computer? cause there's a hole where i can connect the tv cable to. and i should ask them about this problem? and how can i identify the card by connections? and i found my packing slip, but i don't see anything that looks like a 'tv card', but is 'module,Card,Multi-media,TVT2DTFull Height,MCE05,Eng' it?

thank you very much
