clange,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Open up MSCONFIG and click the startup tab. Look at the list of startup programs or processes to see if "my computer" is one listed and uncheck it. To get to msconfig you can go to start run and type in MSCONFIG.

Jesse L,

First, thanks for the quick reply.  Next, I did as you said and there was nothing titled "my computer".

The following is a list of the startup items listed in the msconfig:

iTouch   -   "C:\Program Files\Logitech\iTouch\iTouch.exe"   -   (this is a program that runs my wireless mouse and keyboard)

     ccApp   -   "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe"   -   (this is a part of my Norton security program)

osCheck   -   "C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\osCheck.exe"  -  (this is a part of my norton security program)

     qttask   -   "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime  -  (this is a quick time file)

     ctfmon   -   C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe   -   (?)

     Adobe Gamma Loader   -   (?)

     Adobe Reader Speed Launch   -   "C:\PROGRA~1|Adobe\ACROBA~2.0|Reader\READER~1.EXE   -   (?)

Again per my previous post, I have had this computer for about 7 or so years and this has only stated doing this during the past 4 or 5 months.

Any further help you can give will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chip Lange
