my excel doesn't work anymore

Question

I could really use some help, I'm a grad student who needs Excel up and running again ASAP. I have been using it without any problems, then out of no where, it wont open. When I click on the link a window pops up that says," Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional The feature you are trying to use is on a Cd-rom or other removable disk that is not available. Please insert the disk and click ok." First off I'm not sure what happened to it in the first place! And secondly I dont think I have that disk in any of the disks that came with my dell.

I could really use some help on this, or if someone could tell me who I should contact for more help that would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to open the program from shortcut link or from the Programs Menu?  Sounds like a short cut link may be pointing to the wrong or no application.

I have tried opening it from both areas and both give me the same pop up screen saying that I have to install that disk. I didn't think Excel was something that I could "erase" or anything, do you know how this may have happened?

What do you think I should do next?

Are you using Excel as your ISP if so can you connect to the Internet using it.

I see they have a version 5 dialer & it mentions a version 4 dialer with 4 CD's so did you install Excel from a CD. ?

Try re-installing Excel from your applications disk.

dammer7, You need to run the repair on Office. Put the Office did the in the CD holder and let it spin.Select the setup mode and select repair.
