Need Ethernet driver

Question

I am trying to reinstall XP Home from a CD I got from Dell, but it doesn't have the Ethernet driver. Dell Dimension 2400 desktop The CD incudes Service Pack 1a, but not Service Pack 2, if this is relevant. I can get to a list of some 80 programs at    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen   However, I do not know which of the 80 programs to download. The machine is a couple or three years old and is not under warranty or an extended service plan. Westell 6100 external modem; Verizon budget DSL service.   Your advice? Tom Jones

You probably received your modem from Verizon so Dell won't have the driver. Here is a link to the driver: http://fastaccess.drivers.bellsouth.net/drivers/WestellUSBDrv.zip

Then download SP2 and the other 80 or so updates . .
