NEED HELP WITH FILES AND FOLDER PLEASE!!

i AM NOT 100% COMPUTER SAVY mY PROBLEM IS WHen I go to search and open file or folders I get some files that I open with "word pad  or Paint" because it says I have to then all I see is code or script .. How do I open these files and see what they are.. is there a way i want to know so I know whether its something I want to keep or delete.. Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks in advance! candice

Right click on the file, the side menu should show "Open With". Pick the program that you think (or know) it was created with and open it. This assumes that you have the same or equal program on your computer.
