need help with login/welcome screen!!!

i posted earlier also..with no real help
 
I HAVE WIN XP HOME EDITION..heres the problem:
 
ok this might be something stupid or simple...but i just noticed something..
@ the welcome screen (only 1 user account on the computer running windows xp home) @ the bottom left of the welcome screen i should have "TURN OFF " but its not there anymore. i dont remember when this started.
i have been searching on the net for a reg hack or something but cant find one.
cant do system restore cuz i dont even remember when this started...since i just noticed it.
 
this might be simple...but simple and little things are getting me to pull my hair out..
 
can someone help pls before i go bald?

You may try to download and install the Treak UI program from Microsoft, also called Power toys (or something like that). It allows you to set a number of indicators, such as having the XP version on the lower right of your screen.

Caution, Do not uncheck the indicator that displays your logon name because if you do, it will not show the name and you cannot logon. You will have to restart in safe mode to reset the indicator.

do i really have to load a new program to get back the setting that should be there to begin with?

never seen this issue before..so been pulling my hair out.
