Need help with Window upgrade

I had Vista on my PC. Needed to upgrade for a job, got Windows 8. Hated it, and lucky for me it was to advanced anyway. Got my refund and had Windows 7 sent out to me. I did what Microsoft told me to do, which did not work.  So now I have Vista (had to install) and 8 on my computer.  8 I can still get into just fine. Vista will not connect to the internet at all.  Windows 7 will not install now....how do I get 8 off my computer, Vista working enough to install Windows 7????  Can anyone in here help?

My laptop is fried and having to have the hard drive replaced so I'm stuck in limbo now.....

I will move this to the win 8 forum, where you stand to get a quicker answer.

What model of Dell?

See my Windows Reinstallation Guide/A Clean install of Windows 7:

http://philipyip.wordpress.com/dell-community-forums/

Delete/format both the Windows Vista and Windows 8 partitions during the install (or alternatively follow the Step 7a and wipe with DBAN) so you only have Windows 7 in the end.

I've looked at your guide and it's basically in a foreign language to me. I have no idea where to even start.

After 45 mins on the phone with Microsoft Tech support my computer will not "boot up" to the cd/dvd and when I try to change it to priority 1 it doesn't save. They are telling me to contact Dell support now for help with that, otherwise I can not do a clean install.

You should insert the DVD then power down your Dell.

Press the F12 button when you see the Dell logo (when powering the system up) then select boot from CD/DVD and follow on screen instructions.

Download the Windows 7 install disc ISO from Digital River, burn it to DVD, and use it to clean install Windows 7. When prompted to choose a partition in which to install, delete all the existing partitions; that will eliminate all traces of Windows 8.

If your Windows 7 is an upgrade version, you'll need to install over top of the first Windows 7 install (it will archive the first install and you can delete it) so that it will activate.

Heck, at this point it won't hurt to try. I've spend so much money and time trying to get this to work it's stupid.

@natakuc4   That is what we did, over and over again. It never worked.  Now if I power down and power back up I hit the F12 or the F2 (setup) it won't even let me into those anymore at all.....

Okay a few things to try:

1. power down your machine and remove both the AC adapter and battery. Hold down the power button from 10-30 seconds. Then leave it a couple of minutes. This will discharge all the power. Put the battery back in and AC adapter and retry pressing F12 to see if it works.

2. Try a USB external keyboard to press F12.

Okay follow the same procedure (with the exception of the battery - although you can take out the CMOS battery on the mainboard also) which will set your BIOS settings to default.
