Why do you say the program (service pack) "stinks"?

Most people have installed it successfully & see improvements in their systems. If you describe your particular problems, perhaps somebody can help you sort them out.

I say it stinks because It causes too many errors in IE, It crashes IE and I have to send

a stupid error report to microsoft. It won't let me lestin to streaming audio even with the firewall disabled conplealy. I don't use firewalls anyway. Had problems with them too.

And It say I have no Anti Virus on my computer. Which I have Norton Anti Virus 2003

installed. It won't let me do a liveupdate even without the firewall.

So that why I won't to get rid of it.

I went to that site you gave me and I'd tryed all the way to take it off.

but none of theses options was there on my computer.

In the Install/Uninstall window I checked show updates. But

Windows XP Service Pack 2 entry wasn't in there.

So I try to Use the hidden $NtServicePackUninstall$ folder

Click Start, click Run, type c:\windows\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst\spuninst.exe

It said folder didn't exist.

I'd then tryed

Use the System Restore process

Click Start, click Run, type %SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe in the Open box, and then click OK.

It didn't exist either.

Is there any other was to uninstall SP2?

Can only suggest you do a clean reinstall of XP then install SP2 again. Was your XP installation running without error before you installed XP2? On the subject of firewalls, you definitely need one, especially if you're on a broadband connection. The IE error report can be disabled.

Yes, XP was working great before SP2 got installed.  I've should have not listened to

microsoft when they said keep automatic updates on, thats how it got installed.

For now I shut off automatic updates, I'll do them manulaly from now on.

I don't like firewalls because I had problems with them in the past.

And I was told not to put one on if you don't know how to use on.

My problem with them is if something gets blocked I can't get it unblocked,

or when you block something you don't want, it blocks everything elese you want.

I know this sounds confusing, I live a confusing life, and I get confused to easy.

I don't want to reformat this machine cause I don't want to lose all my

stuff I have on it. Very important stuff I have on here.

So reformat is ruled out of the question here, and someone will be upset if I'd

did that. And I will be shot.

Any other options are okay besides reformat.

By the way heres my computer stats.

Fom what you say, it sounds as if you do not have your important files backed up - it's vital you do this, especially now  while your system is accessible as it definitely seems flakey.

I don't have a backup system to do that, and I don't have a second computer to back it up on. I don't have that option on computer to backup any thing.

Do you not have a CD writer? Put one in, they're peanuts. And / or install a second hard drive - also peanuts - & back up to that. If you don't back up, you stand to lose your data & you won't be able to get it back.

I desided I'm going to have a professional come here and do all this for me.

Because I don't know squat about these things.

I'll get my step dad to do this hes an expert at this stuff.

Well I did a reformat of my computer and put SP1 pack on  and it work perfectly now.

I'm not making the same misstake in upgradeing to SP2 cus I will have the same problem

again. I had all my files saved on some CDRWs.

Thanks for the help.

Oh yeah, even told automatic updates to not to download SP2. So I hid the SP2 download file

so it wouldn't download it.   And I'd installed Sygate Personal Firewall on my computer too

and had no problems with it too.
