Hello alegator :smileyhappy:

You are correct that it is not malware of any sort.

I found one reference to it with Google, but no explanation of what it ACTUALLY is.

By some round about methods I eventually found it described as "Chinese word input method", but I could not find it elsewhere to corroborate this.   Does this make sense to you? Follow the path, open it up and see if there is any information to help.

Disable it?

CJIMETIPSync implies that is is used to synchronise the program in some way.

I hope this helps you

gives some related links in the MS knowledge base.

The Input method editor (IME) is used to input oriental language characters (Chinese, Japanese, ..) in MS Office. If you want to do that you must also install the files for East Asian languages (control panel, regional an settings, languages tab). In fact, I suspect you got those startup items because you did install those. If you are not using IME you don't need the startup items.

Thanks for your replies. Yes, it is a Chinese input for MS Office and I now know where I got it from, it was installed as part of a Yahoo Messenger new version installation. I already disabled the startup as I don't need it. Thanks again.
