Hi
If you have deleted the files or formatted the D:\Recovery partition
there is no way to replace it !
Your only option now is to use the Vista DVD to install Vista !
Good Luck!

Hi

Thanks. I already installed Vista and it is working. I'd like to reinstall PCrestore since I still have the disk space from the Dell initial install. I did not do anything to the D: drive but it no longer appears.
My C: is Vista my other drives are DVD drives.

I have a 320gb disk and Vista is using 288gb. The remaining space was originally used by PCrestore. I appreciate your help.

Hi
You have a 320 gb hard drive that shows 288 gb
i think that is normal for a 320 gb drive!
I have one too and no other partitions on it but it shows 298 gb  !
You can go to disk manager it will show the partitions on your drive .
When you installed Vista did you partition the hole drive as C:\  ??
if so the D:\ is gone and can not be replaced .
You really need to see what disk manager says to know for sure what
partitions are on your hard drive.
In disk manager it should look something like this
{EISA size----} {recovery size----------} then {your OS size-----------------}
if it does not show something like this you are out of luck again D:\Recovery can not be replaced
See yea

Thanks. That shows that I have 10gb on Disk 0, unallocated, and gives me the option to do a Simple Format.

Hi Hank
OK the only thing you can do now is when you have to reinstall Vista
just repartition the hole drive as C:\  OS
or format the 10 unallocated and use it for extra storage there is no way to save PC Recovery
Sorry !!
And do not use it for windows backups it is to small you can copy updated drivers and other files like
music videos docs you want to save as long there is enough space for them !!
Good Luck

Dell needs to  fix this problem.
I also had the same proplem and was intructed by dell to reinstall everything.
And  now Vista pc restore option. is gone

Vista built into its  program the System recovery partion
Your dell factory image would be gone but the Windows Recovery Console should be there.
The reinstallation disks dell supllies is not configuring the hard drive correctly.
Check out your new hard drive configuration under disk management and you will probably se that the D  drive  10 GB is now after the C drive.  Under the original configuation it came before.
Media direct and the OEM Vista disk have caused this problem.

Keep after Dell to fix.
I have them send me a new factory imaged hard drive and now when I boot to F8 I can see the option for vista recovery but when I try to enter it I get a error FAILED to Nobulate.  Dell still can not fix this.  So still mo recovery options
