Need to repair xp - forgot admin password - technically challenged

I got the blue screen of death and I have gotten far enough to know how to boot from my cd.  I could not remember my admin password and reinstalled windows once (probably a big mistake).  Now I can boot up to the windows logo and it freezes.  I don't know what to do next.  Help

did you delete the windows partition before you tried to install windows again?

When it asks for admin password, try just pressing ENTER, unless you actually set an admin password at some point.

I tried that.  I don't remember setting one but it was a while ago.  I didn't know if there was a default password or not.  Just not sure what to do.
