networking

I have just purchased  a second pc . One is a Dimension 4300 and the other is an 8300. Both pcs' are set up for cable connection. I am thinking of trying a wireless network. I have never done this , how well will a wireless network sharing an internet connection work between a pc on the first floor and one on a second floor? And is setting up a network like this fairly easy?  Thanks

I have my wireless router upstairs, and 2 computers (wireless) down on the 1st floor. Wireless is a little slower, but well worth the freedom. As far as getting it going, it took a couple hours on the phone with Linksys and it was up and running.

r-ackerson,

I would suggest checking out the notebook networking boards, those guys are aces for set-up information. A few sites for information on set-up and troubleshooting would be Practically Networked, PC911 and DIY Home Networking. It was fairly simple for me to network my Dimension 8200 and Inspirion 600M, about 15 mins. I am using Linksys equipment, (BEFCMU10 Cable Modem and WRT54G Router).
