This is most commonly caused by a firewall blocking access.  On any computer running Windows XP with SP1, disable the Windows XP firewall. It will not allow File and Printer Sharing. On computers running Windows XP with SP2, make sure that the Windows XP firewall has File and Printer Sharing checked off on the Exceptions tab. If you are running any third party firewalls, like those provided by such programs as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, or McAfee Security Suite, make sure they are configured to allow local network traffic.  If you are unsure about the firewalls, just disable them or uninstalling as a troubleshooting step until you get the network to work.

Yes, I am really good at it.  Do you have a more specific question or details of what you are trying to do, or is this just a poll?

You need to post a new message to start a new thread rather than posting a reply to an existing thread.  Otherwise it gets very confusing trying to deal with more than one problem in the same thread.  When you post a new message, please provide as much information as you can about what equipment you have, versions of Windows, type of internet connection, and the exact nature of the problem.

I have 2 pcs and 2 laptops on my wireless network.  Both laptops can fully access each pc....but neither lap top can access each other.  I'm getting the same message she is(.."not accesible...contact administrator").  I followed your advice and made sure the "file and printer sharing" boxes were unchecked but I still cant get them to access each other.  Any further suggestions?

I just went high speed and decided to set up a Belkin router. Set up went fine (I've even got my Tivo now dialing in through it), but even though I can connect to the internet for long periods, every so often, it says network not available, and all the configurations I went through with my Windows XP are gone (for instance, the little check mark that says let Windows do the connection from now on). It's as if Windows just decides to scarp the whole thing and make me start again...and even then, most of the time I can't reconnect. What do I do to configure Windows so it always recognizes my encrypted network and connects to it? Help.
