Hi,

The backup program is found on the Windows XP Home Edition CD in the Valueadd folder

To Manually Install the Backup Utility
Insert the CD and navigate to
CD-ROM Drive:\VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP
Double-click the Ntbackup.msi file to start the wizard that installs Backup
When the wizard is complete, click Finish

If you only want to copy the Favourites folder
Load IE
Click File -> Import and Export
Click Export Favorites
Follow the dialogue to back up to a file of your choice

If you need to replace the folder
Run through the Wizard again and import the Favorites

Check out that web page for some info I 'googled' just now. Note the part about NTBackup (particular attention to the pitfalls).

The Favorites backup you're thinking of can be done by using Internet Explorer's File menu then Import and Export...

Aw heck, I've been out-paced once again! I'm not trying to be a copycat. :)

Great minds think alike, right?

Too bad it (Windows XP Backup) doesn't span across multiple CD-R's (or CD-RW's), although I think the last time I looked at it was before SP1 and now I have the SP2 download from the MS website. I don't suppose there's any differences found in the ntbackup.exe of the more recent Windows XP CD....? Apparently not, anyhow, from what I can find out.

I haven`t heard that SP2 made any changes to it

Pity :smileysad:
