Norton Ghost error message

I recently tried upgrading to Vista, the installation failed, and I rolled back to XP.  In the process, Norton Ghost was uninstalled.

When I re-installed it on my Dimension E520, it suggested I try booting from the recovery disc to "check out the environment".

When I did this, I got the following error message:

Norton Emergency CD came up with the following error:
STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78AEA98, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Does this mean the Norton Recovery Disc does not work?

Please can someone suggest what I should do?

Thank you.

Thanks for your help, Dave, and for figuring out it is a Raid problem.

The page you directed me to says:

The driver package consists of a folder containing a txtsetup.oem file, and a matching pair of .inf and .sys files. This folder will normally be found on a CD that came with the motherboard or computer. Any other files contained in this folder should be included as well.

Send these items in a password protected zip file, along with the password, to NIC_Drivers@symantec.com and a custom SRD will be created for you.

The folder is 512MB and contains 6,429 files.  Do I need to send them all, and do they have to be sent in a password protected zip file.  (I don't have winzip and don't know how to password protect it.)

Just download the Intel Matrix Driver and send it to them along with the sys config file. You can also just go to the FTP page that contains the custom disks and download one that has Iastor 6.0.1.1002 in the name and it should work just fine.

Hi

I downloaded the disc and saved it to cd.  When I booted from it, I got the same screen I get when I boot from the hard drive.  I realise I didn't know what to expect, not having booted from a recovery cd before.  Is this right?  Does it mean my recovery cd is working?

Thanks.

If you just saved it to a CD that will not work. You need to use something like Nero or Roxio to open the .ISO file. You will select the option to burn from a disk image.

I used Sonic and burned from disc image.

Is it right that I get the same screen when I boot from the recovery disc as when I boot from the hard drive?
