BrickYard,

Does your Windows Clipboard work for other uses? Can you copy a section of text and paste it into a program such as Notepad or Word?

to "print screen", press the "print screen" key, then open "paint" (or another image editor, like "irfanview")(start/all programs/accessories/paint), and in "paint", click edit, then "paste"..

then, in paint, click "file", then "save" to save the image..

You could also check the contents of the clipboard using clipboard viewer (C:windows\system32\clipbrd.exe; if that is not installed, use add/remove windows components, accessories and utilities, accessories to install it). That would identify whether the problem relates to copying the screen to the clipboard or to pasting what is on the clipboard to another app. After pressing the printscreen key, the picture of the screen should show in clipboard viewer.

If the picture does not show on the clipboard when you press printscreen on the keyboard, try running the diagnostic for your keyboard, it might be a faulty key.

Rim Shot,

The only way to get a screen shot into OE (based on my experience) is to save it as a graphics file and then open OE and go to Insert|Picture.

Denny & All,

Yes, normal copy and paste works fine.

Since my second post here about this I was trying different combo's and found I can copy a screen shot by first opening a program like Word, Paint, minimize it, copy the screen shot by pressing the Print Screen Key, maximize the program like Word or Paint then press Ctrl + V and it will go. Also I can do the same but press Alt + Print Screen then open Word or Paint and press Ctrl + V and it will go also.

I thought I had been able to copy and paste a screen shot more simply with out having to go through Word or Paint. Also I want to be able to put a copy of a screen shot into OE.

Thanks...............

Ok I will check that out.  My son has been having an issue with this and I thought I would try and help him.  I see he had already posted pretty much the same question as I. Just as long as we can correct it is all that matters.

Thanks...........

I have since found this out by tinkering, but I thought I did it in the past in a more direct way with out going through Word or Paint etc.

Also, once I have it in Paint or Word I want to be able to put it in OE? I tried this by select all, copy & paste and it wont go.

Thanks........................
