NTLDR is missing

We defrag'd our hard drive and when we rebooted we are getting this message, "NTLDR is missing"  How do I find it and once I have how do I re-install?

NTLDR is missing

If WinXP will not start, it may be due to a damaged boot sector or a missing or corrupt ntldr or ntdetect.com files. To replace, access the recovery console and enter:

1. Boot into recovery console
2. Copy X:\i386\NTLDR C: (X is your CD ROM drive letter)
3. Copy X:\i386\NTDETECT.COM C:

here is another alternative: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q314079  using this boot-floppy will help you work around the "missing ntldr" problem. after you boot from the floppy, copy the three files (or just the ntldr and the ntdetect.com files) to "c:", from the floppy. if you want me to send the three files to you in email, just ask.. my email is redwolfe_98 at yahoo. if you can manage to boot into windows, you could just download the files, and then paste them in "c:". do you use "aida32"? i think aida32 is what causes this problem. (uninstalling aida32 causes another problem, where "msinfo32" no longer works).

Aida32 does not cause me any problems, maybe you should look elsewhere?  Also Aida32 does not install in the windows sense, just runs from the binary

I have a Deminsion 4600C. I had to reinstall Windows Xp and now when I try to reboot it gives an error "NTLDR is missing". I have tried Microsoft Support using a 98 bootup floppy. Is there something else I might could try?

Thanks
