o2micro ms mspro

Over the weekend, I received a blue screen on my computer.  It eventually restarted and now I am getting the following notice in a

Found New hardware Wizard window:

Cannot install this hardware

There was a problem installing this hardware:  O2Micro MS/MSPRO

An error occurred during the installation of the device

Access is denied.

I am also having trouble logging into my internet banking - could they be related?

Hi berte15,

Please share the system model and operating system installed.

Bluescreen errors might occur due to any issues with system hardware of the software (operating system , drivers or any application installed). You may run a hardware diagnostic test on your computer to ensure the correct functionality of system hardware. To run diagnostics:

  1. Restart your computer and tap F12 at Dell logo.
  2. Highlight diagnostics and hit Enter to initiate the diagnostic test on system hardware
  3. Make a note of error code if any.

If the diagnostic tests pass, you might need to update the driver for card reader of your computer. You may check if there is any yellow exclamation mark or red cross in 'Device Manager' of your computer.

To access 'Device Manager': Click on “Start” and right click on “Computer” --> Click on “Manage” --> Click on “Device Manager”.

If possible please share the screenshot of same.

Please share the findings.

Thanks so much! The diagnostics passed the test so I checked into the device manager.......there was a yellow exclamation mark on O2micro - I found my disk that came with my machine (Vostro 1720) and reinstalled the driver with success!

At the very end of the diagnostics test, I got this message:  when I pressed enter, it closed and the computer restarted.

How would that driver have gotton those problems?

I am continuing to have problems logging on to my internet banking.  Are there some security settings I may need to adjust?

Hi berte15,

Corrupt drivers for a device might result in malfunction of the hardware device.

In reference to issues in logging onto Internet banking, you may try using an alternate browser and see if it makes any difference. Also please let me know the following details:

May I know the browser that you use for Internet banking?

Do you get any error message while accessing Internet banking?

Try disabling the firewall of antivirus and check if it helps.

If you are using Internet explorer for browsing Internet, you may optimize the Internet explorer settings by following the steps from link: http://bit.ly/ap4oBZ

Hope this helps.
