OLAddin CPU hog

Hi all.

I have a new XPS M1210 laptop.  I have installed MS Office 2003 small business and have Win XP Pro.  I use Outlook 2003 for e-mail.  After activating MediaDirect and letting it access my Outlook address book, I noticed that the machine would grind to a halt for about a second precisely every 7.5 seconds whenever Outlook was running.  Sorting my processes list in task manager by cpu utilization confirmed that oultlook was the culprit.  Mouse clicks and keyboard entries would freeze.

I did quite a bit of searching and and tried the usual suspects such as virus check, spyware protection, and firewall.  I then stumbled across something called OLAddin.msi, which I believe is a Dell add on for Outlook and is related to Media Direct.  I uninstalled it and the problem disappeared.

Has anyone else seen this?

I have the same issue as you.  A detailed description of my exact problem is here http://help.lockergnome.com/office/Outlook-2007-Slow-Responding-Activities-ftopict948915.html

BUt now I have a secondary issue.  I Can not remove the outlook addon.  I'm using vista and when  i choose to install it is says it cant locate the OLAddin.msi file.  I browse for it and locate it here: C:\Program Files\Dell\MediaDirect\OLAddin\OLAddin.msi

but then It still says:  the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

Why cant it uninstall?

Thanks,
 Ryan
