Opening and Closing Problems

When I click on a toolbar, or address bar and the drop down menu drops down, it won't stay locked.I have to continually click on it to get it to lock. When I take my pointer away, it goes back up.  Also when I have 2 or more windows open and I go to close the one in front, and hit the red X in the upper right corner, all the windows behind it closes too, very annoying when your on line with a number of web pages open, and they all disappear.
