Suggest you do the following:

 

1. Hardware – run diagnostics, if the hardware tests pass then:

 

2. Investigate present Vista operating system, in particular:

 

Check in Device Manager for driver problems/conflicts

 

Malware – post over in the Malware Forum here where experts can help

Before posting for help in Malware Forum read the Bugbatter thread this one

You need to download/install & use HJT (Hi Jack This) Installer to provide required Logs for your first post

 

OR

 

3. Simply use Dell PC Restore, procedure is here read carefully before using it

 

Some important points mentioned in above procedure

 

Disconnect ALL peripheral devices (network connection, printers, iPods etc..)

Backup ALL personal data, using external media device (USB flash drive, CDs etc)

Reinstall Security software before going back on-line

Download/install ALL Vista updates issued between the computer purchase date & when you use the Dell PC Restore utility

Use security software to scan external media device before reinstating personal data back onto hard drive
