Are you aware that your old model is not approved for Windows 10 because no dell drivers are available for win 10? Consider reinstalling your original version of windows.. If that's not possible, replace the computer. See www.dell.com/.../drivers
Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade
Dell is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for this product. If you choose to upgrade, some features, applications, and connected devices may not work as expected.
Thankyou Mary, I purchased this computer from a Torquay firm advertising refurbished computers with Windows 10, as a back up for our main computer. It was fine for 3 months but after the latest Windows update the problem arose, I then went to the DELL site and found the info. that you have also pointed out. I don't know whether I will be able to reinstall the original Windows ( XP ? )as I cannot access the monitor or keyboard but I shall give it a try. I had wondered if its possible to use a bridged usb male to male transfer cable to control the Dell from my ASUS. Thanks again. Peter
