Optiplex 740 with A64 processor... why 32Bit Vista?

HI there, quick question... why does my new Optiplex that has a AMD Athalon64 processor ship with a 32 bit version of Vista? And how can I upgrade to the 64 bit version? Thanks, dlangan

Hi

Dell is only selling windows vista 32bit  and  you can buy it  Vista 64-bit  from a online shop

And how can I upgrade to the 64 bit version?
Hi dlangan
To add to this you can not upgrade to Vista 64 bit it has to be a clean install only
there is no upgrade path from 32 bit to 64 bit !
And you need to make sure your hardware has the 64 bit drivers before you buy it
this includes your PC , printers ,  and other add on hardware same for software most of the 32 bit software will work but if it has to install a driver or some audio or video codes with it it may not work !!
