Osprey4,Flooby,DennyDenham,THANX!

This is a heartfelt thank-you to those who chimed in on my last topic. I would never have guessed that I would be this far along with this project. Only because you guys were able to narrow the possibilities, that, combined with DELL's impressive data vault, am I up and running so good, almost too good.
I followed the advice and called all around my area looking for a used Dell case ( I was told to order it from Dell), I was offered generic cases starting at$40.00 and ending at $70.00. Get this, I ended up using a "ancient" Gateway tower(an old PS/75). The DELL setup fit perfectly, I only had to modify the back plate to accomadate the "shield plate" for the keybrd/mouse, USB, printer ports.
Now I am on to the tricky task of clearing the previous user's history, personal collection of bot's, smut, etc. So, once again I lavish great praise on this site and it's users, and will speak highly to those who's pathes I cross... Till next time..

I'm sure both Dell and Gateway would be thrilled! :)

Glad that worked out for you.

ooooooooooooooooooo, sarcasm, I like it! By the way, Osprey, what's your specialty in this field. I'd like to know cause seeings how I'm a newbi to puters I am full of questions. Oh, and remember you were the closest on nailing my system as an XPS, so DELL & Gateway are "thrilled" with you to!(LOL), once again thanks, this is quite the fancy rig, compared to the dinosaurs I was using (in fact I had to 'skin' one of those dinosaurs to give this XPS a home)

My specialty is being an average end user. Hang around and you'll find there are plenty of people like Denny that know far more than I do about computers.

Well, Osprey4, thank you for the invite & I have plans to do just that, hang around. This site is, as far as I'm concerned, has been the best fit for me, here in puterland. Although, I do acknowledge that I just touched my first computer last april & accessed the web in may, this is the first place I've found real, usable answers for myself. My first time here, I read the thread where , you, Denny, and flooby were trying to help the guy with the IE 6/Windows ME/AOL problem(he needed to deal with the US Post office with IE 6 & AOL was telling him it wouldn't run on ME) I then tracked down the three of your'se replies in the forum, thats why I titled my first post to you three (HELP!) I have since visited Denny's links and yes he does seem to know his "stuff". Well, enough of this "mush", you will be hearing from me my friend, cuz I gots a lots ta learn, thanks...................SCOTT
