Outlook 2002 - Won't send or receive - error message "An operation failed. An object could not be found"
I have Earthlink (Total Access). Earthlink has been very helpful and I don't feel the issue is at their end. When I go online, at the top of the desktop the Earthlink task panel shows the number of incoming email messages. Howe it works is when you click on it, it defaults to Outlook 2002. Outlook comes up and nothing is there and nothing happens. So then I click on "Send & Reveive" in Outlook and get an error message that
"An operation failed. An object could not be found"! I contacted Dell Support and as a suggestion I am trying the Forum. I suspect it is something simple that I may be overlooking. It was working fine and now it is not. I am using a
Dimension 8300 Series, Pentium 4 HT @ 3.06 GHz, Windows XP Home Edition SP1, 512 MB DDR @ 333MHz, Microsoft Office XP Small Business. I also have Ad-Aware installed. I have every Microsoft update installed, I have uninstalled Microsoft Office XP and reinstalled it, no change. I turned off Norton Corp Edition, turned off the Firewall, clicked on Help - "Detect & Repair" in Outlook, did not work. I have turned off Sytem Restore as a suggestion while I tried different things and when I tried system restore again it would not restore to a prior date, nothing has worked. Microsoft tells me to contact Dell Support. I am currently viewing my email through
www.webmail.earthlink.com so I can at least use email. I see this challenge posted repitously on the Forum, so I know I am not the only one that is working on this. Has anyone figured this out yet??!! I have tried everything I know to solve this for 6 weeks and nothing is working for me. I learn a lot about computers everytime something goofs, but this is getting frustrating, has anyone in the community figured this out yet??? !!!
