Have you tried restarting your PC to get out of the loop? By the way, if you're sending a really big file then it would most likely freeze or hang. You can try converting your files to JPEG (*.jpg) to shrink the size a bit. You can also try sending them one by one or something as a work around.

Try this: Open OE, go to File, Work Offline, delete the mail in the Outbox. This works for Office's Outlook and might work for OE.

Restarting has no effect.  Going offline and deleting has no effect.  As soon as Outlook Express is opened the computer goes bananas.  The "in use" light on the front of the computer stays on almost constantly and if you click on "delete" on the tool bar with Outgo box selected the hour glass stays on almost continuously.  The cursor will only move sporadically.  Went to C:/ Outlook Express and tried to delete all the files (i'm desperate) but they just pop back up.  When the window is closed the warning shows "Not Responding"  and have to use Cancel or End Now and wait and wait until it finally closes.  Any suggestions.............???

click on start menu>my computer>properties>advanced>in th top box, clickPerformance, click settings>advanced  now in the 3rd box down is virtual memory, click >change   halfway down in next box it says "paging file for selected drive"  put the green dot in >custom size           Now change your Initial size to 500     then go to next one down and change 'maximum size' to 500.   Now  ok out of everything and reboot. see if that won't help

Increased memory per your excellant instructions.  No effect.  Open OE and it just starts running and keeps running.  Gotta be a corrupt file in Outbox, but haven't figured out how to delete it.  Any other suggestions?

I sure wish I had more suggestions for you, but if nothing else, at least it should have helped your overall performance! I also have problems with OE. When I try to send an email with an image or graphic in it, the images are lost and do not show up in my "sent" emails. I am told that is a glitch in outlook ex., so maybe that is what your problem is too. Have you contacted Microsoft? you can go into their website and get their phone". the first time they help you it is free:smileyhappy:but after that, they charge you!!!:smileymad: I wish you luck
