I closed OE. I will leave Outlook open. Send me a response. Let's see if it works.

You could just have sent yourself an email...

I am trying to change from Outlook Express to Outlook. The only problem I am having is that I cannot get my email default address to route the mail to Outlook. My email address in Outlook shows that is is the default under the email accounts window and Outlook has been set for my primary email. Express still receives all incoming mail. I have read as many tutorials that I can stand in Microsoft help, but I am missing something.

You're going to laugh at the answer...

Outlook and OE receive emails.  If you want Outlook to receive your emails, then CLOSE OE.  If OE is closed, it receives NOTHING.  Your problem is that you open OE, receive all the emails, then open Outlook, and nothing is left.  If you don't open OE, Outlook will work fine.  :smileywink:

I did and it did not work. Your response did not work either. I checked Outlook and did a send/receive at 10:30. No go. I opened OE and it was there. Your reply was timed at 9:44. Thanks for trying.

You set the default email in Internet Options, Programs, not in Outlook. Also, Outlook accounts must be set up separately and Outlook needs Outlook Express to work correctly. Open Outlook Express and go to your Acct Properties, Advanced tab and check "Leave a copy on server" so that either program can get mail. Only Outlook will remove the mail from the server. Note--Outlook cannot retrieve web mail, only POP mail.

Outlook has already been setup in Internet properties. I enabled 'leave copy on server'. I sent myself an email but it went only to OE. Oddly, your reply went to Outlook and not to OE. @#$%!!!
