Outlook - Send Button

After completing the writing of a message using Outlook I am unable to send the email because the SEND button has disappeared, to be replaced by a strip in the SEND button position stating 'This message will be sent via demon.co.uk'.  However it does not operate as a SEND button and it is impossible to get the message to load into the outbox.

I have tried restoring to a few days back when everything was working OK but this had no effect.  None of the other buttons like Tools, Actions, File etc have an entry allowing one to SEND.  I should be very grateful if anyone could suggest some way to get my SEND button operating again.

Hello Anthoney.  For starters, you may have a virus.  Have you run an updated viral scan recently?  Demon may be a hijacker/spy.  Try removing it with Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.com and with SpyBot Search and Destroy from http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html .  Good Luck!

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion.  I have Norton firewall and virus software installed but will run another scan.  I should have mentioned that Demon is the name of my ISP so I don't think that that itself is the problem.

Anthony, Talk to your ISP.  They may be helpful.  You may want to go to settings. Add/ Remove and select Outlook Express.  Select the repair option.

Hi,

Thanks again for your message.  I have now solved the problem by using Restore to August 29th and rebooting.  I have installed every possible protection against virus infections so I suspected that it was an internal problem.  Again, thanks for your help.
