Check in the BIOS to make sure that the parallel port shows auto or enabled then go to the device manager, expand the Ports, double-click the printer port(LPT1), and insure that this device is enabled (under Device Usage). Now click on the Driver tab and the Update Driver button. Let the wizard search for a suitable driver from Microsoft Windows Update site. Reinstall the driver that Windows finds. Let us know if this solves your problem.
Did you install the chipset drivers from Dell for your machine when you installed Win2K? Also check for newer drivers at Dell for the CD drive. You can find them by clicking on the "Downloads" tab at the top of the Forum window.
OK, I went thru the routine, no change. Here's the thing. In device manager my deskjet 930C and the parallel port arre listed under OTHER DEVICES. My printer works fine, I just don't like those yellow marks. :) Also, along with that problem (again since I upgraded to 2K) my DVD won't play most movies. Is there a relation ere?

Hi again:
Microsoft had no updates nor did Dell. I guess I'll just have to put up with those yellow marks since my printer works fine. Thanks all!
