PC System Restore and a wireless keyboard

Hello, everyone

I just received a brand new Dimension 5150 multi-media baby and was testing it out. This replaced an old 8200 which I never taught to swim (my basement was flooded.)

In any case, to prepare for the worst, I tried testing the PC System Restore and ...

It does not work with a wireless keyboard/mouse. The DELL/Symantec screen appears when pressing CTRL-F11 during the boot but it is impossible to click on the RESTORE button. In fact, there is no mouse cursor, at all. No matter what key I press on the keyboard, the REBOOT button becomes highlighted.

Plugging in an old mouse from another computer resolved the problem, but that solution is not available to everyone.

So, here is one for DELL to look at.

   Regards, all

I doubt cordless mouses can be run outside of Windows, unless you can load the drivers for it.

I always have corded mice and keyboards, just in case.

I use a Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse on all three of my working computers.  They are USB, but come with a converter for PS/2.  I have had no problems except with the Belkin KVM switch which they connect through.  I have done full installs in this configuration.
