You'll need the Windows XP CD and at least the chipset and network card or modem drivers.

Instructions above under Product Support, Reinstall Guides.

Depending on when your computer was built, and if it hasen't been totally re-formatted, you can try this:

Re-boot your computer. At the DELL screen, press and hold down the Ctrl key, (not the Alt key), then press the F11 key and release them both at the same time. The Dell PC Restore by Symantec window should appear.

Make sure you only press the keys one time. If you press them more than once you will receive a keyboard error message, and you will have to start all over again.

Click the Restore button.

Click the Confirm button.

When the restore is complete the message "The system recovery process was successful" appears.

Click the Finish button. The computer will restart.

Hope this helps...

It seems as if I heard somewhere that if it was made within the last 5 years that it would contain the Restore feature. I could be wrong on this...

The 4550 is far too old to have come with a Symantec Restore feature.
