You should be able to fix this with msconfig.  Click Start | Run then type in msconfig and press Enter.  Go to the boot.ini tab and click 'Check All Boot Paths'.

Thanks for the tip. I have a simialr problem on the CEO's computer in the office. I'm sure everyone would agree that his would be the perfect guinea pig system to try these things on. Agreed?

You can also edit boot.ini, once you have identified which is the redundant entry; control panel system applet, advanced tab, click settings in the startup and recovery section, click edit. It opemns in Notepad, make the change you need, save.
