Power Options in Win7
I have several questions regarding the selections on the panel ControlPanel>PowerOptions. I am using Win7 on Dell XPS 8300. There are two "Preferred Plans", one named "Dell" and the other named "Power Saver".
1) What is the difference between the two?
2) I presume that only one of them is in effect at any one time, namely the one whose "button" is on. Am I correct? If not, which takes dominance for the two options "Turn off the displahy" and "Put the computer to sleep"?

Hi mlassiter,
Welcome to the Dell Community,
In response to your post, the difference between “Dell” and the “Power Saver” is under Dell the settings are balanced or default settings which is almost same in the all the Dell computer , whereas the Power saver option is given to you to customize the power saving option. It is advisable to change the settings in “Power saver” not in “Dell”.
About your second question, yes! You are correct which ever button is turned on will dominate.
Please reply if you need any further help.
Thanks & Regard
